Post Holiday Eating

After the holiday weekend, you may find it difficult to start eating clean again. According to the Journal of Clinical Investigation, overdoing the saturated fats (cheese, butter, beef) for just three days straight can cause us to keep overeating.
“The excess fat consumed may block our brain’s ability to respond to hormones that tell us when we are full”, states Deborah Clegg, Ph.D.
So remember, the occasional steak, chips and ice cream are ok, but if you have an extended binge, such as a holiday weekend or vacation, you may have to reset your hunger cues. Be mindful of what you choose to eat, and measure out your portions in the days following your splurge, because studies also show that a prolonged splurge that causes weight gain may affect your body for months
