Life As I See It [Fitness, Health and Happiness]

Breakfast shakes made with blueberries and yogurt are a healthy way to start the day. In this refreshing smoothie, yogurt provides protein as well as calcium and B vitamins. Blueberries rank third as a natural source of antioxidants after prunes and raisins.

Blueberry Breakfast Shake
Makes two 8-ounce servings.

Ingredients
1/2 cup blueberries, picked over and rinsed
1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons honey
5 ice cubes

Directions
Place all ingredients in the jar of a blender, and process until smooth. Serve immediately in tall glasses.

I love blueberries in my smoothie especially when they are frozen because they make it that much colder. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Visiting from Fitness Friday. I've never really been a fan of smoothies -- I think I must expect them to taste like a milkshake, which, of course, they don't. This one sounds good, though. I'll have to try it.

I also enjoyed reading your post on Post Workout Nutrition. I've been struggling with finding a balance with that lately, so I found your thoughts helpful. Thanks!

Oh, thanks for this. I will try this on Monday. The bilberries (Norwegian version of blueberries) are just now ripe and we are going pickin'!
