New Year, New Goals, New Opportunties

When I started writing today, I realized that I had a lot that I could say, but you may not have the time to read it all – so I tried to keep it short!  Just a few ramblings……

I love the New Year’s Holiday.
It is a time when we can wipe the slate clean. Forget the mistakes and disappointments of the previous year and look forward to new opportunities in the coming year.
There is no better time to start a new goal, but remember not to make it an overwhelming one. Make it attainable and write out an action plan to follow. Such as, “I will lose 1 pound per week by cutting out all sugary drinks and working out 3 times a week”.  This is a clear and doable goal.

As I was blog hopping this week, I remember reading a suggestion of finding one word that would you could use as a mantra for the new year; my word is going to be BALANCE. It was a busy year for me last year with school, work and family emergencies. I woke up one September morning and realized that I hadn’t taken one single trip or vacation day the whole year! No wonder I was cranky! So this year I am going to focus on finding BALANCE with everything I want to accomplish.

I found several websites and articles that I enjoyed this year and want to share them with you.  These are ones that are not on my blog roll.

Recipes to help you through the weekend!

Fitness tips to help get you started next week!

Beginning next week, we will be getting back to regular posting on how to have fun with food and fitness!

I wish you all a prosperous and productive New Year!

My word for 2012 is balance too! Last year it was Embrace [who I am]. I just posted the final album documenting my 2011 word.
