Smoothie with Benefits


I love that it is spring here in North Carolina! All this warm weather is making me crave fruits of the seasons. When I came across this recipe, I posted it on my refrigerator – not only am I going to try it as a smoothie, but I’m going to try it as popsicles too!

No more empty calories – this pumped up smoothie packs extra protein to keep you slim and satisfied.

Smoothie with Benefits

Ingredients:
1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt
2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
1/2 cup sliced banana
1 cup diced mango
2 tablespoons plain whey protein powder
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup crushed ice

Preparation
In a blender, combine ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into 2 large glasses.

Benefits:
Strawberries provide vitamin C, bananas are potassium rich, and mango boasts beta-carotene.
Plain yogurt is a great source of calcium, protein, and potassium.
Honey naturally sweetens and helps your muscles recover from a workout.
Whey Protein Powder is fast absorbing, feeding your muscles after an intense workout.

Perfect timing to share a smoothie recipe. I was just thinking this week I need an alternative to my green monster protein smoothie for breakfast. I still love the green but I'm ready for something different every now and then. Thanks!
